     After the Halloween celebration where fake vampires and ghosts scared us, another terrifying but important event took place last Nov. 6, 2004 in Cebu Office.  Red Cross facilitated an orientation on the benefits of blood donation followed by blood letting.  Everybody seemed hesitant... more

  The ART of Yusen Philippines

     It is but fitting that the man we choose to feature on our very first issue of newsletter is fondly called Art by his friends and family within and outside the industry.

     APT never had it easy in life.  “Mahirap and buhay”.  He grew up in a street by the estero at Delgado St. Sampaloc.  While in college, their house burned down and they had to transfer to Tatalon Estates in Quezon City, which in the 60’s was a squatter colony.  His family endured life there for 9 years.  This is probably what pushed APT to work for a better life. “Poverty? No, I don’t consider it an obstacle.  I consider it an opportunity for greatness.”

     As a student, APT is the kind of son any parent would love to have.  From elementary to law school, he was a full scholar at San Beda College.  He received almost all prestigious awards possible.  Magna cum laude in college.  Cum laude at law school, best speaker, best debater, student leader award.  He was awarded by his alma mater in Oct 2001 as Bedan of the Century.  The list could go on and on and we would probably extend our time tonight if we enumerate them all.  In fact his rented gown during his college graduation was torn due to the weight of heavy medals... more
