Japanese Training Program

1

Ninety nine percent (99%) of our clients are Japanese. The best way to foster camaraderie and better understanding is to be able to communicate to them in their own language.  Hence, the Management Committee and the Corporate Affairs Department initiated a seminar on Nihhongo and Japanese culture for sales and customer service personnel.

The seminar was done Tuesday and Thursday from 1900 to 1830 for four weeks which started on Jan 18, 2005. The whole class enjoyed the tongue twisting challenges of informing cargo status, flight details, greetings, counting, doing introduction the Japanese way etc. The whole class got a glimpse as well of Japanese art of paper folding - origami, as they were taught to create a beautiful swan.

The time to learn everything they need to know about Japanese culture might not be enough, but the short time more than tickled their interest in learning about the culture and most especially the people. Indeed, in the mix of these cultures in this company, seminar like this helped bridge people even closer to one another.

The seminar was conducted by Ms. Andi Homecillo, Executive Assistant of Executive Vice President, Mr. Takatomo Ito. Ms. Homecillo studied Advance Study on Liberal Arts in Aoyama Women’s Junior College in Tokyo, Japan.
