Clean Up Activity With Children of Welcome House

The Children of Welcome House together with YAS volunteers for outreach met and had a Clean-up activity last April 23, 2005 at 9:00AM in Mt Carmel Church, Quezon City. The children lead by Ms. Fannie (of Welcome House) gathered up in the assembly area and explained the activity to be done for the day.  After which, everyone was given the tools and things needed for the clean-up activity.

After the activity, the children gathered once again and had a short program – children were asked to share what they have learned during the day.  Before the day was over, we shared simple snacks with the children and then parted ways at around 1:00PM.

A Message from Yusen Management's Scholarship Grantee

Life’s never easy. It offers a lot—challenges, fears, happiness, opportunities and a lot more. Thus, it helps us to view things in different perspectives, that could enable us see the reality or reasons behind everything.

I tend to view life in a way like seeing a big box in the middle of a field. I am curious and eager to know what’s inside it but afraid I might not be able to reach that giant box for the path leading to it seems hard to cross. But as time passed by, we are able to gain knowledge on how to deal with real-life situations or problems. One way of being equipped is by having education. The importance of education goes hand-in-hand with dealing with life. Education assures us of many things depending upon how we value or treasure it.

It’s true—life has a lot to offer. It was almost two months ago when I encountered Yusen Air & Sea Service Phils., Inc. through Fr. Prudencio “Jun” Inferno (Parish Priest of Wawa Church in Sto. Niño, Parañaque).  The Yusen Management's Scholarship Program serves as a motivating factor that pushes me to continue the paths that I thought would be hard to cross. It leads me as I continue my education. It's an answer—an answer to my prayers.  I feel grateful after all. And, I would also like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to all the people behind it.

The Program offers scholarship to student who needs financial assistance. It is necessary for the student to maintain the cut-off grade to qualify for the said scholarship. The Program will surely help assist the students to pursue and finish their chosen career.

Programs like this helps a lot in encouraging the youth and instill in their minds the importance of education. And this inspires us to dream, and soon learn to achieve it.

To the Management of Yusen Air & Sea Service Phils., Inc., THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!
