Yusen Philippines (Warehouse 2) Passes the TAPA Audit (cont...) |
|
During the closing meeting, both gentlemen commented that it was very
apparent that Yas Phils’ management was committed and very supportive of
TAPA certification. They cited our best practice which was a simple and
cost effective measure of painting the plate numbers in our trucks and
using the enlarged removable number plates. This measure was thought of
by the team to ensure that the plate numbers of delivery vehicles are
clearly visible and readable in the DVR/CCTV monitor. Instead of
purchasing high-tech zoom lenses for our cameras, the team thought of
other creative and cost effective solutions. They were also highly impressed by “… how fast, committed & result-oriented you were about the audit”. They were of course referring to the construction of the mesh wire ceiling for the high value cage which took 30hours non-stop with Nonoy Abales, who impromptu designed and engineered the whole thing, at the helm. This was a remedial action for the completion of the all the mandatory items in the TAPA Freight Security Requirements Matrix. At the onset of the project, another “Superman” was Diego Cruz who spent two weeks of sleepless nights trouble-shooting the break-down of the Digital Video Recording of our DVR/CCTV system. APT congratulated the team and stated that “when you pour your hearts and minds in any endeavor … you will be successful”. Modesty-aside, indeed the team worked whole-heartedly sacrificing long hours and even weekends. All the team members put in a lot of extra hours as we all had full-time jobs (Allan Baraoidan - Air Export Operations Manager; Freddie Alejandro – Fleet Manager; Irene Cabrito – CS Manager; Violy Cruz- Air Export Operations Asst. Manager; Andi – as North Laguna Area Asst. Area Manager; Diego Cruz – IT Supervisor; Chikie Abellon – HR Training Officer; and Nonoy Abales – Building Maintenance Supervisor). Special mention goes to our Finance and Corporate Affairs Manager – Elecita B. Tan whom we coined as “TAPA Project Official Nagger” who was present in our meetings that would sometimes last until 10 or 11pm. Last but not the least, we extend our gratitude to Mr. Benny Wong from YAS Singapore (Asst. GM for Sales Mngt Dept and TAPA Security Manager) who acted as our consultant from the inception of the project. Without his valuable advise, guidance and support the team would have been walking like a blind man. Pictures during TAPA Auditing
